Once you completely Unplug paper shredder from plug point (that you have to do for your safety reason), you should be able to disassemble it fairly easily by removing the lid from the main container.Do not try to forced or your machines lead can be broken.try to do softly. turn it upside down so that you can see the teeth or gears. Clean the paper bits out with a stiff brush until no more will come out. Plug back in and shred a small piece of paper so that the teeth/gears will be in a different position when they stop. Better if you use a few drops of sewing machine oil or light ‘machine’ oil on the teeth or gears to prevent paper and glue buildup and work it more perfectly. You can just oil a few pieces of paper and feed them through in different positions so that the whole length will get coverage.

For some cases you can use that also.If you’re using the water and dish soap solution, mix it in a cereal sized bowl using a spoon well,to mix it well. Then dip a cloth or paper towel inside and wring it out so that it’s not dripping wet. If you’re using the vinegar or rubbing alcohol, you can simply pour the solution directly on the cloth, but not directly on the shredder.Then use a clean cloth or paper towel to wipe of any residue from the cleaning solution. Let the machine air dry or use a dry paper towel or cloth.

Best if you follow the instruction coming with manual or the technical person or the shredder manufacturer or seller described to you.All machine are not same.So better if you follow the manual.But the basis sense you can use shredder oil to let work it better.Do not try to clean a paper shredder regular way.If that not shred properly or you think that lot of shred done now time to clean it or as per the manual you can clean.
